Sunday Buddhist Services

The Higashi Honganji Temple opened in Costa Mesa in 1989 and has services on Sunday mornings from 10:00 AM where you can enjoy listening to (or joining in) the chanting mediation and Reverend Nagayamaโ€™s dharma talks.

Depending on the type of service, snacks and drinks may be served afterward, or there may be an opportunity to have an informal group chat with Reverend Nagayama.

The Sunday Service Calendar (linked below) shows which type of service will be held on a particular week and shows the few weeks when no service will be held.

Reiki Aromatherapy Massage

My name is Mutsuko, and I offer healing sessions that gently realign your body and mind. Blending Reiki energy with aromatic oils, my massage is more than just physical relaxation โ€” itโ€™s a deeply nurturing experience that touches the essence of your being.

With flowing, intuitive movements and guided breathwork, tension, stress, and unspoken emotions begin to melt away. You are invited to simply be โ€” without pressure, without pretense.

After the massage, we may share a quiet cup of tea, sit in silence, or speak from the heart. Whether you wish to talk, reflect, or simply rest, this space honors whatever you need in the moment.

Recovery Dharma

Recovery Dharma is a peer-led movement and community that is unified by our trust in the potential of each of us to recover and find freedom from the suffering of addiction.

We believe that the traditional Buddhist teachings, often referred to as the Dharma, offer a powerful approach to healing from addiction and living a life of true freedom.

We believe that recovery means empowerment, and we support each other as partners walking the path together. We believe that recovery is rooted in finding our own inner wisdom and individual journeys.
